Srinagar, Nov 03 (KNO): Nighat Faheem, a courageous woman hailing from Ali Jan Road in Srinagar, has etched her name in Kashmir's motorsport history, as she became the first woman from the region to secure the top position in the District Srinagar Auto-X Race, marking a significant milestone in the sport. Faheem, who is the mother of a 12-year-old daughter, has been passionately involved in car racing for over a decade. She proudly clinched the first prize in the ‘Gypsee category’ at the recent District Srinagar Auto-X Race event. Her remarkable achievement has not only brought honor to her family but has also inspired young motorsport enthusiasts across the Kashmir valley. Nighat Faheem, speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said, “I have been behind the wheel for the past 12 years, and this victory is the result of countless hours of dedication and practice, and it's an incredible feeling to be the first Kashmiri woman to win the District Srinagar Auto-X Race.” “I have been dreaming of this race for a long time, and it's my second time riding a Gypsee as an off-road racer. My inspiration for this historical win is my husband, Faheem, who is also an off-road racer, and I have learned through his videos,” said Nighat with adding in today's modern era, both men and women are equal, and women should step forward and participate in every possible event to make Kashmir proud. Likewise, the Auto-X Race is known for its challenging courses and rigorous competition, making Faheem's win even more remarkable. Her success serves as a testament to her unwavering commitment to motorsport and the immense potential that exists within the youth of Kashmir—(KNO)
